Chontales
To the south of Boaco is located the department of Chontales, also based on Livestock and agriculture. The name comes from the náhualt word "Chontalli", which means "people from abroad or abroad."
The capital of the department is Juigalpa, which centers all the administrative and economic activity of the same. In it, besides being able to see up close the daily life of the settlers, you can visit the Archaeological Museum Gregorio Aguilar or the zoo Thomas Belt.

HOW TO GET CHONTALES - JUIGALPA?
Juigalpa is located at km 138 of the Rama road. From Managua you can easily reach.
To do this you must take the North road and turn right at the junction of San Benito, at km 35 of the North road.
Entering the road to the Rama. -It is perfectly signposted.- To get there by bus from the capital you must go to the El Mayoreo bus terminal, where daily buses leave for Juigalpa.
